During your stay in Gangtok, you will be mesmerized by the vibrant city life, which is brimming with beautiful monasteries and breathtaking views of the Himalayas. Explore the local markets and savour traditional cuisine while immersing yourself in the local culture. You’ll feel like a true local, experiencing everything the city has to offer.
Next up is Darjeeling, where you’ll fall in love with the colonial charm and tranquility of tea gardens. Get ready for a mesmerizing ride on the famous Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, which will take you through stunning views of the surrounding hills.
In Gangtok, you can explore the bustling markets and vibrant street life, immersing yourself in the local way of life. Visit the Enchey Monastery, a serene Buddhist temple known for its stunning architecture and spiritual significance.
Day 1 - NJP / IXB to Darjeeling (Approx 125 Kms / 4 Hrs. 30 mints)
Day 2 - Darjeeling Local Sightseeing
The day starts early with a visit to Tiger hill (Subject to availability of Permit / Token) to watch the spectacular sunrise over Mt. Khangchendzonga (28,208 ft. World's third highest peak). On your way back we see Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop. After breakfast you wil go for sightseeing tour of Darjeeling covering - Japanese Temple, Peace Pagoda, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute & Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park (closed on Thursday), Tenzing Rock, Tibetan Refugee self help Centre (closed on Sunday), Tea Garden (outer view).
Stay overnight at Darjeeling.
Day 3 - Darjeeling to Gangtok. Approx 3 hr 34 min (96.5 km) via NH10 and Peshok
Darjeeling to Gangtok via Teesta Lamahatta tourist point.
Enjoy your dinner & overnight stay at Gangtok.
Day 4 - Gangtok Sightseeing and Explore Hidden Beauties
Day 5 - Changu lake (3,753 m) & Baba Mandir NathuLa Pass (4,310m - optional)
(Approx 53 Km / 3 Hrs. one-way)
Note: Changu Lake & Baba Mandir are subject to permit issues from the tourism department and weather conditions.
Day 6 - Gangtok – NJP / Bagdogra Airport
Travel back home with Lots of sweet Memories
Note: If any of the above mentioned sightseeing points are closed due to renovation / weekly closed / any other reason, the closed sightseeing point will not be covered on another day. Also note that no alternate sightseeing will be covered for that closed sightseeing point.
